Our FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions?
Do I Need Planning Permission for SlimCube Units?
Planning permission is not required for certain activities near dwellings and other buildings:
- Non-residential outbuildings: Detached from the main building, such as carports, if located up to 3m from side plot boundaries or 1m from backyard boundaries. They can also be placed on or against the plot boundary if adjoining an existing dividing wall without altering it. Total area is limited to 40m², including existing outbuildings, with a height limit of 3m.
- Single movable residential devices: Such as caravans or camper vans, not visible from the public road, provided they are not used for living.
These exemptions are subject to conditions, such as being within 30m of a licensed building. Always check with your local municipality to avoid future issues.
